Sistema Utah After-School Music Program Job Summary Join our award-winning Sistema Utah program! We are looking for a dynamic, passionate individual to teach singing and choral music for our after-school music program at our Draper campuses. Partnered with American Preparatory Academy, Sistema Utah provides children in grades K-6 with a vibrant after-school experience, combining high-quality music instruction, academic support, choral singing, and nutritious snacks. Patterned after the global El Sistema movement that originated in Venezuela, our mission is to foster creativity, discipline, and community, empowering our students for social change. Duties & Responsibilities Teach vocal technique, choral singing, and ensemble performance to groups of children in grades K-6. Select engaging, age-appropriate vocal repertoire that celebrates diverse musical styles and compositions. Collaborate with site staff to foster a positive, structured, and creative learning environment. Maintain consistency and engagement across all daily singing classes and choral ensembles. Assist with post-program student pickup (ending at 5:30 PM) and daily classroom reset. Shift Hours & Schedule This program runs every school day following APA's schedule.
Monday, Tuesday, Friday:
3:00 PM
  • 6:00
PM Wednesday, Thursday:
2:00 PM
  • 6:00 PM This is a school-year-only position beginning in August and ending in May and will include a mandatory training week.
Compensation Pay:
$18.50
  • $22.
00 per hour (Dependent on Experience and Education) Required Skills & Abilities Strong background in vocal performance, choir leadership, or vocal music education. Ability to manage and engage large or small groups of elementary-aged students. Willingness to receive training and to be coached by program directors and administrators. A college music degree or ongoing studies in vocal music/music education is a plus, but not required. A strong passion for music education and community outreach is a must. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
