Job Description

Do Re Mi Academy is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic entry level piano teacher for young beginner students who loves working with children and inspiring young musicians. For over 30 years, Do Re Mi Academy has served the local community through excellence in music and early childhood education. Our academy specializes in small group piano instruction for children ages 4-12, creating an engaging and supportive environment where students develop strong musical foundations, confidence, and a lifelong love of music. We are currently looking for a dedicated Piano Teacher to join our growing team. About the Position This is a part-time teaching position focused primarily on small group piano instruction . Teachers work with groups of approximately 4-6 students who are similar in age and skill level. Each class is 55 minutes long. Classes are typically scheduled on select weekdays between 4-8pm, with additional Saturday morning or afternoon classes potentially added over time. At Do Re Mi Academy, we provide a well-equipped studio space along with a dedicated enrollment and marketing team, allowing teachers to focus on what they do best — teaching piano and building meaningful relationships with students. Responsibilities Serve as a positive and encouraging role model for young musicians Teach engaging and developmentally appropriate piano lessons for students ages 4-12 Demonstrate proper piano technique, posture, hand position, rhythm, and musicianship Teach foundational music theory concepts through piano instruction Guide students in note reading, ear training, rhythm development, and performance skills Create a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment Foster student confidence, creativity, discipline, and enjoyment of music Track student progress and support musical growth at various learning levels Communicate professionally with families and team members Qualifications The ideal candidate: For beginner students: has basic competency in piano technique and musicianship Understands foundational piano pedagogy and music theory Enjoys teaching and interacting with young children Is patient, enthusiastic, dependable, and professional Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills Works well within a collaborative team environment Has basic computing skills Previous piano teaching experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train advanced-level pianists who are passionate about teaching children and eager to grow as educators as well as teachers for beginner students.
