The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Habib University invitesapplications for open-rank faculty positions in its ComparativeHumanities Program. Depending on the credentials, candidates will be considered at Assistant Professor or Associate Professorranks as appropriate. The program seeks talented faculty who are passionate about teaching and student learning, and who are excited aboutthe challenge of teaching philosophy at the undergraduate level within a comparative, cross-cultural humanities framework. Habib Universityseeks outstanding student mentors who will be involved in the lives of students through mentoring, student support, enrolment initiatives,and other activities related to the undergraduate education experience. Qualifications:

Candidates must have completed or must be in the final stages of a doctoraldegree in Philosophy from a leading global institution recognized for its strength in the discipline. Areas of research specialization andexpertise are open, however, teaching competence in formal logic and the history of philosophy is required. The ideal candidate will possessexcellent teaching and scholarly skills, will be able to work with a diverse population of students and colleagues, will enjoy influencingthe intellectual growth of their students, will be effective in institutional service, will be passionate about undergraduate research andis excited to work with colleagues across disciplines. Experience studying in and/or working in a liberal arts environment will be anadvantage.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include teaching foundational undergraduate courses inphilosophy, including introduction to logic and introduction to philosophy, as well as upper-level electives in the candidate's area ofresearch interest. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to cross-disciplinary courses in the Comparative Humanities CoreCurriculum and Habib University's Liberal Core Curriculum, alongside active engagement in institutional service, professional activities,student mentorship, curriculum planning, and review. The annual teaching load is 5 (three- or four-credit) courses. Fallappointments begin August 1st and Spring appointments begin January 1st. Once onboard, faculty should also anticipate supportingthe Habib Liberal Core, a core component of our Liberal Arts education containing four foundational divisions - Humanities; NaturalSciences, Mathematics, and Computing; Social Sciences; and Language, Expression, and Design. As part of this commitment to astudent-centric, interdisciplinary curriculum, faculty members in Philosophy are expected to contribute to, but not limited to, the teachingand delivery of HLC courses within division of Humanities; working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure curricular coherence, academicrigor, and an equitable learning experience for all students.
