Join our team to inspire young learners through movement, teamwork, and healthy habits!
Responsibilities :
Lead and manage a class of elementary-aged students in physical education activities, ensuring a fun and safe environment. Implement P.E. lesson plans using provided curriculum and materials, focusing on age-appropriate sports, fitness, and motor skill development. Encourage student participation and foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude toward physical activity. Provide input and feedback to help create an engaging P.E. curriculum tailored to student interests and abilities. Collaborate with program team members to deliver an exceptional P.E. experience. Ensure student safety at all times, including proper supervision during activities and adherence to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with site coordinators, teachers, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and program updates. Create a positive, inclusive, and uplifting environment that promotes physical and social development. Participate in staff workshops and professional development sessions to enhance teaching skills. Participate in community events during afterschool hours on various days/times.
Program Focus :
The P.E. program emphasizes sports, fitness games, and activities designed to promote physical health, coordination, and teamwork. The P.E. Teacher will lead a variety of sports activities and contribute ideas for new games or exercises.
General Requirements :
Experience working with children, preferably in a physical education, coaching, or recreational setting. Proof of graduation from High School or G.E.D. required; college coursework in physical education, kinesiology, or related fields preferred. Ability to speak and write standard English. Passion for promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles among young students.
Background Checks/Testing :
Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting). Provide a clear TB test. CPR/First Aid Certification must be obtained prior to starting work.
