Qualifications:
Current valid teaching credential with authorization in Adaptive Physical Education. Experience providing adaptive PE instruction in a school setting preferred. Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to modify activities as needed. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff. Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students with diverse abilities.
Responsibilities:
Assess students' physical abilities and develop appropriate adaptive physical education programs based on IEP goals. Deliver engaging, effective instruction that promotes motor skills, fitness, and self-confidence. Collaborate with special education teams, general education staff, and families. Track and document progress, making necessary adjustments to instruction. Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress and program recommendations. Create a safe, positive, and motivating atmosphere for physical activity.
