  • 26 an hour | Part-Time Up to 15-25 hours per week | Weekday School-Day Hours Job Description The National Academy of Athletics (NAofA) is looking for an energetic, dependable, and experienced Physical Education (PE) Instructor to lead elementary school PE programming within the Poway Unified School District.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has experience teaching or coaching sports and physical activity, and is confident managing larger groups of elementary-aged students. Our PE instructors help students build confidence, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy movement habits through structured and engaging physical education. What You'll Do Lead structured PE classes for elementary-aged students Teach sports fundamentals, fitness, movement, coordination, and age-appropriate games Follow NAofA PE curriculum and lesson plans Manage multiple classes and larger groups throughout the school day Set up, organize, and break down sports equipment Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment Encourage teamwork, participation, confidence, and sportsmanship Communicate professionally with school staff and the NAofA team Adapt activities for different ages, abilities, and class sizes What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree required Previous PE teaching, youth coaching, recreation, or similar experience strongly preferred Experience managing groups of elementary-aged students Strong communication and classroom/group-management skills Positive, energetic, patient, and dependable Comfortable teaching a variety of sports and physical activities Able to be active and on your feet throughout the school day Reliable transportation Preferably located within approximately a 30-minute commute of Poway Ability to complete required background screening and school requirements You do not need to be an expert in every sport. We're looking for someone who understands how to teach movement and sports fundamentals, connect with kids, manage a class, and make physical education fun. Schedule This is a part-time position with classes taking place during regular weekday school hours. Depending on the school schedule, instructors may work up to approximately 15-25 hours per week . Additional opportunities may also be available through NAofA after-school programs, camps, clinics, and youth sports classes. Pay $24.00
