Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education or eligibility to obtain Experience designing and providing adaptive P.E. instruction for students with varying abilities Strong understanding of IEP goals, assessments, and modifications for physical activities Excellent collaboration skills working with educational teams, therapists, and families Genuine commitment to fostering an accessible, supportive, and engaging learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education plans aligned with students' IEPs Assess students' physical and motor skills to create targeted, inclusive lesson plans Adapt traditional physical education activities to meet students' unique needs Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed Track student outcomes, preparing necessary reports to demonstrate progress and compliance Encourage positive attitudes toward physical fitness, self-confidence, and teamwork among students
