Job Description

Make a lasting impact on students in the San Francisco Bay Area by bringing your expertise in Adaptive Physical Education to a dedicated school community. This contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026 to June 4, 2027, covering a 184-day school year on a 35-hour work week. You'll play a key role as an itinerant Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, supporting students across multiple sites as part of a collaborative special education environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering adaptive PE instruction tailored to individual student needs and IEP goals Traveling between school sites in the district to provide onsite support and instruction Collaborating closely with IEP teams, therapists, families, and school staff Creating and adapting lesson plans that promote physical fitness, engagement, and confidence in all students Assessing and documenting student progress, contributing to student reports and meetings Ensuring compliance with all district, state, and federal guidelines in special education What were seeking: A valid California teaching credential authorizing instruction in Adapted Physical Education Experience with K-12 students in school-based adaptive PE settings Strong ability to network with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively Willingness to work onsite, traveling between campuses as needed Organizational skills to manage multiple caseloads and documentation Whats in it for you: For this role, expect competitive compensation ranging from $63-$67 per hour, inclusive of the considerations for the Healthy San Francisco employer tax mandate.
