Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference by supporting students with diverse abilities as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher on a contract basis. This opportunity allows you to provide specialized instruction tailored to students' physical and developmental needs, helping them achieve growth and confidence through activity. Working within the school environment, you'll collaborate with dedicated teams and contribute meaningfully to students' academic and personal success.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Adaptive Physical Education credential or eligibility for certification. Previous experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher preferred. Strong understanding of physical education modifications, IEPs, and adaptive strategies. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, student-focused approach. Ability to travel to various schools in the Watsonville and San Jose areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for adaptive physical education. Deliver engaging and customized PE lessons that accommodate various student needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other staff to support inclusion and maximize student participation. Monitor student progress and adjust programming based on performance and feedback. Maintain detailed records, document student achievements, and participate in IEP meetings.
