Key Qualifications:
Hold, or be eligible for, an Adaptive Physical Education Certification (APE Certificate highly preferred; Physical Education teacher certification required at a minimum) Demonstrated experience or education in adaptive physical education settings Strong flexibility and superior organizational skills Able to efficiently manage a caseload spanning multiple school sites and age groups Reliable transportation with the willingness to travel between schools as required Ability to pass district drug screen and fingerprinting credentialing process
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver effective adaptive physical education programs tailored to individual student needs Collaborate closely with educators, aides, and therapeutic specialists to support students' IEP goals Assess student progress and provide comprehensive documentation Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student achievements and challenges Adapt lesson plans and activities creatively across diverse learning environments and varying physical abilities This position offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, with the option to discuss part-time hours across three weekdays with a 7-hour workday and planning periods included.
