Adaptive PE Teacher:

Lesson Planning & Delivery :

Develop and implement adapted physical education lessons and activities that match each student's abilities and needs

Assessment & Planning :

Evaluate students' physical capabilities, limitations, and progress; create individualized education plans (IEPs) or adapted activity plans

Instruction Methods :

Provide one-on-one or small group instruction, adapt games, sports, and fitness activities for accessibility, and teach motor skills and health concepts

Collaboration :

Work with teachers, therapists, parents, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive student support

Progress Monitoring:

Track student progress, adjust programs as needed, and maintain accurate records

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure all activities and equipment meet safety standards and regulations

Encourage participation, motivation, and acceptance of diversity in the school and community Job Qualifications for

Adaptive PE Teacher:

Education :

Bachelor's or master's degree in Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, or a related field

Certification :

Certification in Adapted Physical Education (CAPE) or equivalent

Experience :

Proven experience working with students of diverse abilities, including those with physical, developmental, or sensory disabilities

Knowledge :

Understanding of various disabilities and their impact on physical education; familiarity with adaptive equipment and technologies

Skills :

Strong communication, interpersonal, and behavioral management skills; ability to engage and motivate diverse learners

Collaboration :
