Job Description

Step into a dynamic educational environment as an Adapted Physical Education (APE) teacher working with K-12 students in a supportive, onsite contract position located near Boston, MA. This opportunity allows you to foster healthy lifestyles, inclusion, and confidence by designing and implementing adaptive physical education programs tailored to students with diverse needs. In this engaging role, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop and adapt lesson plans, and provide direct instruction to students, ensuring accessibility and enjoyment for all abilities. You'll play a key role in helping children and adolescents achieve their physical potential, improve gross motor skills, and experience positive peer interactions.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Physical Education or a related field Valid Massachusetts Physical Education teaching license (Initial license) Massachusetts License in Moderate or Severe Special Needs Experience or coursework in adapted physical education or special education preferred Passion for working with students with a wide range of abilities Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver adapted physical education curriculum for K12 students onsite Develop and modify lessons according to IEP and 504 requirements Assess student progress, maintain records, and provide progress reports Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff Create a safe, motivating environment that encourages participation and growth Engage families and caregivers in the educational process as needed
