This contract opportunity is designed for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher eager to support diverse learners within a dynamic school environment. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current teaching certification with Adaptive Physical Education endorsement or equivalent Experience working in a K-12 setting, especially with students with physical, cognitive, or developmental challenges Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to implement modifications/adaptations Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families Organizational skills to track progress and document student achievements Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging, customized physical activitiesResponsibilities:
Develop and implement adaptive physical education curriculum tailored to student abilities, in alignment with IEP goals Assess student needs, set achievable objectives, and monitor progress throughout the school year Provide direct instruction individually and in small groups, adapting activities for a variety of skill levels Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, occupational/physical therapists, and other school specialists Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed Foster a safe, supportive, and positive environment that encourages student participation and confidence Serve as an advocate for adaptive physical education within the school community Perks of thisContract Role:
