Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic opportunity supporting students across multiple schools as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. In this rewarding contract role, you'll join a dedicated team ensuring every student receives personalized, engaging physical education programming tailored to their individual needs. Based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, you will have the chance to collaborate and divide responsibilities with two other experienced teachers, allowing for organized planning and a balanced workload. This assignment spans the full school year, from August 31st, 2026, through June 10th, 2027, offering 30 hours each week. You'll have the unique opportunity to make a substantial impact across five different school communities—while likely teaching at only one location per day, minimizing travel disruptions and supporting continuity for your students.
Desired qualifications and experience:
Valid DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) teaching license required Experience in adaptive or physical education settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Creative approach to designing inclusive, accessible curricula Ability to work with learners with diverse physical, cognitive, and developmental needs Comfortable traveling between schools within the metro area (not daily) Role responsibilities: Plan and deliver adaptive physical education lessons that meet each student's individualized requirements Collaborate with fellow adaptive PE teachers to ensure consistent instruction and support Assess students' abilities and adapt programming as needed to foster growth Maintain accurate documentation and regularly communicate student progress Engage with school staff, parents, and related service providers to maximize student success Thrive in a positive, team-oriented environment where your expertise will be celebrated and your contributions will positively impact students across several communities.
