Job Description

Step into an exciting opportunity as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, providing vital support to middle school students and empowering them through movement and skill development. This contract position runs from early September through the end of November and offers a full-time schedule at Northdale Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School. Collaborate with a dedicated team and make a positive impact on student achievement and well-being.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Current Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adaptive Physical Education) license required Previous experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher or in a related K-12 setting preferred Strong understanding of adaptive physical education practices, IEP goal implementation, and inclusive teaching strategies Excellent ability to collaborate with colleagues, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Strong communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach Ability to document progress, track caseloads, and manage multiple classes efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education plans based on student abilities and IEP goals Conduct assessments and collect data to monitor student progress Foster an inclusive and motivating environment for students requiring adaptive curricula Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families to optimize learning and participation Maintain detailed records and provide regular progress reports Attend required meetings and training sessions, ensuring full compliance with district and state requirements
