Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to a dynamic educational environment, supporting students across the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area. This is a contract opportunity covering five schools for the full academic year, from August 31, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Join a collaborative team where you'll be one of three Adaptive PE educators, allowing for effective division of responsibilities and minimizing daily travel between campuses.
Key Qualifications:
Valid DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) License is essential Experience or training in adaptive physical education within school settings highly valued Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and students Ability to work independently, manage time, and adapt lesson plans for diverse student needs
Role Overview:
Provide innovative, inclusive physical education programming for students with varying abilities Serve five schools in the district, with schedules divided among three DAPE teachers for manageable caseloads Develop and implement individualized lessons that align with student IEPs and state standards Track and report progress, attend pertinent meetings, and communicate regularly with families and education teams Engage positively with school communities to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments This position is structured around a 30-hour work week, designed to facilitate work-life balance and focused support for your students.
