Help create accessible, engaging physical education experiences that foster growth and achievement for students of all abilities. This contract role offers the chance to collaborate with passionate educators and make a tangible difference in students' daily lives.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education or Physical Education with adaptive endorsement Previous experience teaching adapted physical education preferred Comprehensive understanding of best practices and current trends in adaptive PE Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) related to physical education Effective communication skills for working with students, families, and school staff Creative approach to modifying and adapting activities for various physical and cognitive abilities
Responsibilities:
Assess student abilities and design tailored adaptive PE curriculum Deliver physical education instruction in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings Develop meaningful lesson plans that align with students' individualized needs and IEP goals Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals Track students' progress, monitor performance, and adjust activities as needed Communicate regularly with families and IEP teams about student growth and challenges Create an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning atmosphere for all participants
