Job Description:

The Physical Health and Wellness teacher position delivers high-quality physical and health/wellness education to middle school students. Our physical education classes are centered around wellness topics and activities designed to promote students' physical and emotional health and well-being. Students explore various topics that promote a healthy sense of self and a positive approach to fitness, nutrition, and healthy habits. Middle school courses address the construction and implementation of goal setting as it relates to overall physical and mental well-being. In addition, this position will serve as a building substitute teacher during regular school hours as needed, following established lesson plans, managing classroom expectations, and supporting academic continuity across various middle school subjects Requirements Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in physical education and/or health education or related fields, and should have experience working with middle school students as a teacher and coach. The ideal candidate understands the developmental needs of young adolescents and supports a program where self-reflection, empathy, teamwork, and flexibility are emphasized. They are able to operate effectively in diverse environments, interact successfully with people from widely varying backgrounds, and employ culturally responsive pedagogy to create an inclusive and equitable classroom community.
