Part-Time, Split Shift Position Summary We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and student-centered Physical Education Teacher to provide engaging physical education and recreational programming for children across multiple age groups. This is a part-time split-shift position , with morning hours from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM and afternoon hours from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM . The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, understands age-appropriate physical development, and can create a positive environment that encourages movement, teamwork, confidence, sportsmanship, and healthy habits. Responsibilities Plan and lead age-appropriate physical education lessons and activities. Teach fundamental movement skills, fitness, coordination, balance, and basic sports skills. Introduce students to a variety of individual and team sports, games, and recreational activities. Modify activities to meet the developmental needs and abilities of different age groups. Promote teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, self-confidence, and respect. Provide structured and engaging physical activities during the afternoon school-age program. Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Properly set up, supervise, and store physical education equipment. Monitor students closely and reinforce appropriate safety procedures. Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other program staff. Serve as a positive role model and build supportive relationships with students. Qualifications Experience teaching, coaching, or leading physical activities for children required. Experience working with multiple age groups strongly preferred. Degree, coursework, or training in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Recreation, Education, or a related field preferred. Physical Education teaching certification preferred but not required. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate physical activities. Strong classroom/group management and communication skills. Ability to create engaging activities for students with varying skill and ability levels. Must be dependable, professional, energetic, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Must be able to meet all required background screening and employment requirements. Schedule Requirement Candidates must be available for both portions of the split shift :
