An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to provide adaptive physical education services in a supportive school environment on a contract basis. You'll be working near Raleigh, NC, offering your expertise for 1-2 hours a week, focusing on 1-2 students who require an evaluation for adaptive PE. Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education (APE) or eligibility for certification Experience providing adaptive physical education services within a school setting preferred Familiarity with assessments and development of individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong understanding of diverse physical needs and effective modification strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and other school staff Ability to deliver compassionate, student-centered support

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct adaptive physical education evaluations for students in line with IEP goals Develop recommendations for customized physical activity strategies Document assessment results and provide input for IEP meetings Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and family members to ensure holistic support Encourage student participation and create a positive, inclusive learning environment
