The anticipated duration of this position is from January 4, 2027 - March 25, 2027, with some flexibility appreciated in case of minor fluctations to these dates. This role teaches PE to O'Neal's youngest learners: Pre-K 3 through 4th grade. The major responsibility of the position is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program according to the guidelines provided by The O'Neal School curriculum and the lead teachers, guiding and encouraging students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Have knowledge of, uphold, model, and communicate the mission of The O'Neal School. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons appropriate to each subject. Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of students. Liaise and collaborate with colleagues, including Division Heads, fellow teachers, counselor, and other resources.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Physical Education. Previous experience teaching PE, preferably at the elementary school leve. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills related to interactions with students, parents, and fellow teachers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and an adherence to timeliness.
