Teacher of Health and Physical Education
QUALIFICATIONS
Standard New Jersey Teacher of Health and Physical Education Certification required. Ability to work with Students with disabilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement instructional goals and activities consistent with the IEP, instructional guide and/or appropriate curriculum guide. Relate with parents/guardians and community through positive professional cooperation. Implement disciplinary procedures of the school. Maintain written plans and records of instructional and consultation activities. Communicate positive support of students in their educational development. Foster an understanding of the special needs of classified students within the school setting. In performing the duties of a teacher of physical education, the teacher must be able to lift, carry and/or assist in lifting and carrying students (ages 3-21), restrain students, sit on the classroom floor or low chairs, get up from the floor or low chairs quickly and when necessary, repeatedly stand for periods of time that may exceed one hour, kneel, twist and bend in all directions, reach frontally, overhead and side to side, pursue students by walking quickly or if necessary running. Comply with all safety guidelines, procedures and/or programs. Preform such other duties as may be assigned by Principal.
