A Physical Education Teacher works with elementary and secondary school students on physical education and athletic training. A PE teacher should have knowledge of sports, anatomy and handling common injuries. Sports taught include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, gymnastics, track & field, and aerobics.

Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with curriculum standards. Teach students fundamental movement skills, physical fitness concepts, sports activities, and healthy lifestyle practices. Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students. Encourage student participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Assess student progress and provide feedback on physical development and participation. Adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of diverse learners. Maintain classroom and activity area safety standards. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to support student success. Maintain accurate records and complete required school documentation. Qualifications Valid New Jersey Physical Education Teacher Certification (Required) Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field Previous middle school and/or high school teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to motivate students and create an engaging learning environment Authorized to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diverse student populations Knowledge of fitness, health education, and athletic activities Ability to modify activities based on student needs and abilities Why Join Us?
