Outstanding work-life balance No nights, weekends or holidays 10 paid holidays + generous PTO Affordable medical, dental, vision & life insurance Tuition reimbursement Employer 403(b) with matching contributions On demand pay options Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer Paid training & professional development Supportive leadership and collaborative school environment What You'll Do As an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in our School Age Program, you will: Provide adaptive physical education experiences, including swimming sessions, where applicable, to students within the program in conjunction with specific Individualized Education Plan (IEP) objectives Prepare detailed lesson plans one week in advance of implementation, outlining specific activities, goals and objectives as they relate to each student Communicate with parents, as appropriate, regarding the adaptive physical education program and progress of respective children Select and utilize or, when needed, recommends through outlined ordering procedures, appropriate materials and equipment to fulfill specific goals and objectives ✅ Qualifications We're seeking educators who are compassionate, adaptable and committed to student success.
Required:
Bachelor's Degree and Permanent or Initial New York State Certification in Physical Education/Adaptive Physical Education OR Master's Degree and Permanent or Professional/Initial New York State Certification in Physical Education/Adaptive Physical Education PLUS Current certification in Multimedia First Aid, or comparable, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation; Advanced Life Saving Participation in an Adaptive Aquatics Program preferred Demonstrated skill in formulating and documenting appropriate behavioral objectives for students with developmental disabilities The Arc Difference For 75 years, The Arc Erie County NY has supported children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Western New York.
