Health/Physical Education Adjunct Instructor of Pickleball About Onondaga Community College:
Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor. We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. We also offer certificate programs that can generally be completed in one year. Onondaga is a diverse educational learning community. Job Description:
Primary responsibilities of this position are to teach pickleball, including rules, techniques, and strategies. In addition to teaching, appropriate grading, grade reporting, and submission of assessment data are also required. Typically, we offer one section of pickleball each semester, and each course lasts for 7 weeks (half semester).
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or closely related field from a college, university or foreign equivalency. Greater than 5 years' experience playing pickleball.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of Pickleball Coaching certification. Master's Degree in Physical Education or closely related field from a college, university or foreign equivalency. Over 5 years' experience teaching physical education. College level teaching experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.
Additional Information:
Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $1,527/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment. Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System. To apply, visit http://sunyocc.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?
