Job Description

Physical Education Teacher
DUTIES:
Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Physical Education Teacher for the 2026- 2027 school year. Candidate is needed to provide instruction to school aged special education students. Must have the ability to function as a positive and contributing member of our BOCES team. Must be able to provide Adapted Physical Education lessons and activities to students with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate New York State Education Department certification in Physical Education. Familiarity with Adaptive Physical Education (APE) is preferred.
CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED
Extensive knowledge of instructional approaches for students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders and/or multiple disabilities. Must be driven, organized and have the ability to positively manage students. Successful candidate must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
