08/03/2026 Physical Education/Health Teacher Great Valley 5/6 Center The Great Valley School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education/Health Teacher to inspire students to develop lifelong healthy habits. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging instruction that promotes students' understanding of human physiology, health and nutrition, biological systems, personal hygiene, and the vital role of physical activity in supporting both physical and mental well-being. The Physical Education/Health Teacher fosters a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages students to make informed, healthy choices, build lifelong wellness skills, and develop an appreciation for the value of regular exercise and overall personal health. Responsibilities Plan, develop, and deliver comprehensive Health Education instruction aligned with district curriculum, Pennsylvania Academic Standards, and school goals. Teach students the principles of human anatomy, physiology, nutrition, personal wellness, biological systems, and healthy lifestyle practices. Promote students' understanding of nutrition, food groups, balanced diets, caloric needs, vitamins, and the relationship between healthy choices and overall physical and mental well-being. Assess student learning and progress using a variety of formative and summative measures, adapting instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with individualized education plans and other accommodations. Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, assessments, and progress in accordance with district policies, state regulations, and applicable laws. Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive student behavior, encourages active participation, and supports effective learning. Differentiate instruction to foster student engagement, critical thinking, and the development of lifelong health and wellness habits. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and school staff to support student achievement and promote a comprehensive approach to student health and well-being.
