Designs for Learning is an educational consulting firm supporting Charter Schools and Non-Profits in the state of Minnesota. Our Special Education team supports over 30 charter schools in the Twin Cities Metro and surrounding areas. We are looking to add another school DAPE teacher to our team for the new school year.   • MN Educator License in Developmental/Adaptive Physical Education
  • Strong instructional strategies skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment Experience teaching Developmental Adaptive Physical Education to special education students in a diverse environment, experience with working in a team environment, able to be flexible with workspace and schedule.
  • Provide Developmental Adaptive Physical Education instructional support per student IEP and to support their success in the general curriculum.
  • Utilize positive proactive strategies to address student needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate in the development of the IEP and evaluation process.
  • Communicate and collaborate with staff regarding physical education and gross motor support for students.
  • Comply with all due process requirements for Individual Education Plans (IEP) and for conducting and completing Evaluations.
  • Developing positive relationships with all students and be an instructional resource for students across cultural differences.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Executive Director, Special Education Director, Special Education Coordinator, Special Education teachers, regular education teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents.
  • Report on a regular basis to the Executive Director, Special Education Director, Special Education Coordinator regarding the status of the students on their caseload.
  • Contribute to the improvement of physical education instruction within the school by communicating strategies, interventions, accommodations and modifications needed for special education students.
  • Establish a positive working relationship with school staff including developing communication about students with disabilities.
