Immediately Job Description MS Physical Education Teacher Job Description ________________________________________________________________________Reports To:
Principal Primary purpose: To establish a classroom environment that is inclusive, student-focused and respectful; to foster learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed; to establish positive relationships other staff members; to engage families in the educational process. .Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:- Plan and grade lessons, as well as other P.E.-related assessments
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom/ gym or field
- Communicate with parents or guardians
- Stay current with state and local standards for physical education curriculum, fitness, and nutrition expectations
- Prepare students for grade advancement through assessments
- Develop curriculum expectation tables based on state and local standards and physical education best practices from professional organizations
- Work with students individually when necessary to assess fitness and health progress, improve performance levels, and achieve overall physical education success
- Prepare and lead engaging group and one-on-one discussion sessions
- Care for and maintain gym equipment
- Work with colleagues and department heads to coordinate curriculum goals
- Grade students on participation, best effort, and knowledge of the curriculum
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.
- Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Attends staff meetings and other scheduled meetings.
- Meets all deadlines
- Is on time for all duties and functions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree of related subject from accredited university
- RI Certification in Physical Education
- Experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring
