SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in Washington State, that provides students with the latest cutting edge skills relevant to today's workplace. LWTech offers 12 bachelor's degrees , 42 associate degrees and 70 professional certificates, in 41 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. LWTech serves the Eastside and is located within the city of Kirkland, which is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Washington. Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking qualified part time instructors to teach in the Computer Security and Network Technology Program. All instructor positions require a minimum of two years of industry experience; college teaching experience and industry certifications are preferred. View information on the CSNT program here. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination Teach productive and constructive study skills to students Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (currently Canvas)

QUALIFICATIONS

2 or more years current, directly-related computer and network work experience CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA desirable Network equipment CLI experience required Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite and subnetting College teaching experience preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interat withdiverse populations Due to diveristy of the college population, we encourage applicants who are multilingual Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Compensation Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B. Step 1 ranges from $738.38
