Learning Zone Edgewater We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and passionate Preschool Director to lead our school and team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong early childhood leader who enjoys developing teachers, building relationships with families, and creating a positive school culture where children and employees can thrive. Our Preschool Director is responsible for the overall success of the school, including daily operations, staffing, enrollment, family relationships, licensing compliance, team development, and financial performance. We are looking for someone who can confidently lead a team while maintaining a welcoming, professional, and positive environment for our children, families, and employees. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operations of the preschool while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment. Recruit, train, coach, and retain a strong team of early childhood educators. Create a positive workplace culture built around communication, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth. Ensure the school remains compliant with all state licensing requirements, company policies, and health and safety standards. Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom practices. Conduct classroom observations and provide teachers with meaningful coaching and feedback. Manage staff schedules and classroom ratios while maintaining appropriate staffing levels. Build strong, professional relationships with current and prospective families. Support enrollment and retention efforts while creating an exceptional experience for families. Manage school budgets, expenses, and overall financial performance. Partner with company leadership and support teams to achieve school and organizational goals. Address employee and family concerns professionally and promptly. Maintain organized records and ensure required documentation is accurate and up to date. Lead by example and remain actively engaged throughout the school. Qualifications Previous leadership or management experience in an early childhood education or preschool setting strongly preferred. Experience working directly with young children. Strong knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices. Ability to effectively lead, coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Experience with staffing, scheduling, enrollment, budgeting, or school operations preferred. Knowledge of state childcare licensing requirements preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
