Catalina Kid Ventures About Us Catalina Kid Ventures is a community-centered child care program serving families in Avalon on Catalina Island. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Center Director / Teacher to lead our program. This role combines leadership responsibilities with direct classroom involvement and is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and values being part of a close-knit community. Additionally, we are seeking a full time teacher. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the child care center Ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements Lead curriculum planning and classroom instruction Supervise, schedule and support staff Maintain strong relationships with families and the community Manage administrative duties, including enrollment and communication Qualifications Experience in a licensed child care setting (director or lead teacher experience preferred) Knowledge of California licensing requirements Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills ECE units and/or required director qualifications under California law Passion for early childhood development and community-based care Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation, based on experience Housing available (a unique opportunity to live and work in Avalon) Supportive board and engaged community Why Avalon?
