Position Summary Humble Beginnings Early Learning Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Center Director to provide leadership and oversee the daily operations of one of our childcare centers. The Center Director is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, welcoming, and licensing-compliant center while supporting staff, children, and families. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience managing a licensed childcare center, coaching staff, maintaining licensing requirements, supporting enrollment, and building positive relationships with families. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of the childcare center Maintain compliance with applicable DC OSSE or Maryland MSDE licensing requirements Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, evaluate, and support teaching staff Manage staff performance, scheduling, and retention Support enrollment growth, center tours, waitlist management, and re-enrollment Maintain strong and professional communication with families Oversee curriculum implementation and classroom quality Ensure proper teacher-to-child ratios and active supervision Maintain health, safety, medication, attendance, and recordkeeping requirements Prepare the center for licensing inspections and quality reviews Maintain accurate staff files, child files, immunization records, and attendance Address parent concerns and staff conflicts professionally Monitor tuition collection, staffing costs, supplies, and center budgets Use ProCare to support consistent communication with families Coordinate with ownership and executive leadership and provide regular center updates Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet the applicable licensing requirements for the location where they will work.
