What they do
A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Job Description
- Manage the daily operations of the childcare center in alignment with center policies and licensing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead, support, coach, and develop teaching and administrative staff.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging learning environment for children.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Address concerns, resolve conflicts, and support effective communication among staff and families.
- Oversee enrollment, classroom operations, staff scheduling, and general center administration.
- Support curriculum implementation and promote quality early childhood education practices.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely manner. Required Qualifications
- VPK Director's Credential required.
- Florida Director Credential with VPK endorsement required.
- Minimum of a CDA required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of prior experience in a licensed childcare facility required.
- Experience leading, supervising, and developing staff.
- Strong problem-resolution and conflict-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to quickly build rapport and form positive relationships with parents and families. Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience as a childcare center director preferred.
- Additional early childhood education training or leadership experience preferred.
