The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands both the instructional and operational sides of preschool education. This individual will support teachers, maintain a nurturing and high-quality learning environment, build positive relationships with families, and help ensure the preschool operates in accordance with applicable licensing and VPK requirements. Because the Preschool Director will coach and support VPK teachers, current VPK teaching credentials are required , in addition to the appropriate Florida Director Credential. We are looking for someone who leads with professionalism, consistency, warmth, and a genuine commitment to children, families, and staff. Qualifications Current Florida Director Credential Current required VPK teaching credentials and coursework Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain prior to employment Strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices Knowledge of VPK requirements, preschool licensing standards, classroom management, and behavior management Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive guidance to teachers Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with parents and families Experience with the Abeka curriculum is preferred but not required Ability to create and maintain a positive, Christ-centered school culture Responsibilities Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the preschool program Supervise, support, and coach preschool and VPK teachers Conduct classroom observations and provide teachers with instructional feedback and guidance Help ensure VPK classrooms meet applicable instructional, documentation, and program requirements Support teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, student engagement, and developmentally appropriate practices Monitor classroom quality and help maintain consistent expectations across the preschool Assist with staff onboarding, training, scheduling, and professional development Maintain positive and professional communication with parents and families Address parent questions or concerns and work collaboratively toward appropriate resolutions Help ensure student records, required documentation, and classroom materials are complete and organized Monitor student safety, supervision, and overall well-being throughout the school day Support compliance with applicable licensing, health, safety, and VPK requirements Collaborate with school leadership regarding enrollment, staffing, student needs, and preschool operations Help cultivate a nurturing environment that supports students' cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical development Step into a classroom when necessary to provide instructional support or coverage About La Core Christian Academy La Core Christian Academy is committed to providing children with a nurturing environment where they can grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
