Director of After School and VPK Program Job description The Guatemalan-Maya Center has an exciting Full-Time (40 hours a week) job opportunity to work as an After School and VPK Program Director. Must have teaching and administrative experience. Candidate must be punctual and have good attendance to create a consistent environment for families and staff. We believe in a long-term relationship with our employees. Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm daily.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise a staff of 6 teachers Ensure the safety of all children in our program Closely follow licensing regulations related to child care Approve weekly lesson plans made by teachers Train new afterschool and VPK teachers Collect tuition payments and review with accountant Recruit and enroll new students each year Plan out Summer fieldtrips and activities

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Value and respond to the diversity and individual differences of students Connect parents with resources when needed Work closely with families to assess their needs and assure that we are best serving our children in school and at home

REQUIRED ACTIVE CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATIONS

Director Credential VPK Director Endorsement First-Aid and CPR Certification

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have experience working with youth (5 to 12 years old) Must speak English and Spanish fluently Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and to work effectively with others. Ability to use computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record.
