We are seeking candidates who have direct, hands-on experience managing the daily operations of a licensed child care center. Candidates without previous Child Care Center Director experience will not be considered for this position. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily operations of the child care center and maintain a safe, organized, professional, and nurturing environment for children, families, and staff. Ensure continuous compliance with Florida DCF licensing requirements and all applicable child care regulations. Supervise, lead, support, schedule, and hold staff accountable for attendance, job performance, required training, documentation, and center policies. Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times. Monitor staffing needs and assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating employees. Oversee enrollment, attendance records, parent accounts, tuition payments, and other administrative responsibilities. Maintain complete and accurate records and ensure all required reports, applications, and documentation are submitted by established deadlines. Oversee and maintain compliance with VPK, ELC, and the Child Care Food Program , as applicable. Prepare for and appropriately manage licensing visits, inspections, and requests from regulatory agencies. Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, employees, regulatory agencies, and ownership. Address parent concerns, employee issues, and operational problems promptly and professionally. Ensure classrooms, playgrounds, kitchen areas, and common areas meet applicable health, safety, cleanliness, and licensing standards. Monitor employee performance and ensure center policies and procedures are consistently followed. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee, child, family, and center information. Work closely with ownership and provide timely communication regarding staffing, enrollment, compliance, inspections, parent concerns, incidents, financial matters, and other significant center operations. Demonstrate accountability and take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the center. Required Qualifications Previous professional experience as a Child Care Center Director is

REQUIRED.

Demonstrated experience independently managing the daily operations of a licensed child care center. Florida Director Credential or ability to meet all Florida requirements for the Director position. Strong working knowledge of Florida DCF child care licensing requirements and regulations . Experience supervising and managing child care employees. Experience managing staff schedules and maintaining required staff-to-child ratios. Experience maintaining licensing records, employee documentation, attendance records, and other required administrative documentation. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and consistently meet regulatory and administrative deadlines. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Dependable, responsible, professional, and capable of effectively leading a team. Required background screening and child care training must be current or completed as required. Preferred Experience Experience working directly with VPK, ELC, and the Child Care Food Program is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience preparing for DCF inspections and managing regulatory documentation are also highly desirable. Schedule This is a full-time, in-person position of approximately 40 hours per week . The Director must have sufficient scheduling flexibility to meet the operational and staffing needs of the center.

Compensation Starting pay:

$21.00 per hour , equivalent to approximately $43,680 per year based on a 40-hour workweek . Compensation may vary based on the candidate's director experience, qualifications, credentials, and demonstrated performance .
