A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
This is a floater position that assists in all aspects of day to day operations of the Head Start and Early Head Start site centers as assigned and directed by the Center Manager. Duties and tasks may vary significantly from day to day depending on the immediate needs in the Head Start Center. This position includes but is not limited to: clerical support, child care support, kitchen support and support in other areas as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inviting demeanor and personality while meeting and greeting parents, children, staff and visitors. Provides clerical support as needed by all Head Start Departments. Delivers breaks to Teachers, and Substitutes for classes when requested/needed. Assists Family Advocate and all staff members as requested by the Center Manager. Contributes with special projects and meetings as requested. Answer the phone in a professional manner. Other duties as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications:
Minimum GED or High School Diploma. CDA preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience working with 3 and 4-year-old children. General clerical and excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic to Intermediate Computer Skills preferred. Great Communication in writing and orally. Good customer service skills Must be responsible to get the job done in a timely manner. Has a great work ethic. Is a proactive self-starter. Displays an approachable demeanor. Enjoys being a part of a team environment. Has a passion for working with children and adults.
Requirements:
Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening, Background Check, Physical and TB Screening. Must have reliable transportation with appropriate insurance and a valid GA Driver's License for required travel and necessary center errands and/or planned and impromptu meetings or training.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a childcare environment. This role routinely requires interactions with children, parents, noisy and fast paced day to day activities. Requires uses of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires repetitive standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
