Daycare Director Job Type:
Full Time Accountable to Family Promise of Hall County (FPHC) Executive Director The Director is responsible for the supervision, operation and maintenance of the Daycare to both Family Promise of Hall County, Georgia Bright from the Start and Quality Rating standards. The Director or the Director's designated substitute must be on site to assume responsibility for the operation of the Daycare whenever the Daycare is open and children are present. Qualifications and Requirements Possess one of the following: Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition Paraprofessional Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Must be certified as a Director by Bright From the Start/ Completed approved 40 hour director training course Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Current First Aid and CPR Certification Health and Safety Orientation Food Handling Certification The Director shall have experience managing personnel in a childcare environment. The Director shall have experience developing and managing a budget. The Director shall have communications skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with children, parents, subordinates, coworkers, and Family Promise of Hall County Executive Director. The Director shall have a minimum of 5 years experience working in a childcare environment. The Director shall have a knowledge of all applicable GA state requirements for the operation and management of a fully compliant and licensed daycare facility. The Director must meet the state requirements for a Daycare Director. Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Staff Responsibilities The Director shall hire the employees for the safe and effective operation of the Daycare within the constraints of the daycare budget. The Director supervises teachers' lesson planning and schedules to ensure they are suitable to the needs of the daycare's children and meet the guidelines provided by the Georgia Department of Early Child and Learning (DECAL). The Director conducts staff meetings and individual conferences as necessary. The Director plans and provides training for all staff, as appropriate. The Director supervises the planning, purchasing, and preparation of meals for the daycare children Facilities Responsibilities The Director supervises the entire facility to ensure that it is clean, safe and well maintained. The Director confers with the Family Promise of Hall County (FPHC) Director whenever a maintenance or safety issue is identified for the purpose of developing a solution. The Director shall keep all facility licenses current. The Director or substitute shall supervise or implement a plan for the closing and securing of the facility each day. Administrative Responsibilities The Director shall maintain personnel files that at a minimum include the job application, continuing education records/certificates, training certificates and related information. The Director shall maintain files on all children enrolled in the Daycare, including current address, parent contact information, medical information and other information that may be pertinent. The Director shall prepare and submit proposed annual budget and expenditure plans to FPHC Director for the Finance Committee approval. The Director is directly responsible for keeping a record of all registration and tuition charges and payments through Brightwheel. The Director shall maintain attendance records, time, and other records and submit reports as may be needed for payroll purposes. The Director shall answer the phone, return calls, initiate calls as necessary to conduct the FPHC. The Director shall prepare and publish a monthly newsletter for parents. The Director shall confer with parents and/or staff when problems arise and handle all complaints within the policies and procedures of the FPHC.
