A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.
Mills County Head Start located in Hastings, Iowa. West Central Community Action is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Mills County, Iowa Head Start Program. Teachers work with parents and children, direct daily educational activities, and supervise classroom staff. AA/AS in Child Development/Early Childhood Education and 1-year experience as a member of a classroom team, valid driver's license and auto liability insurance are required. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Education, is preferred. This is a full-time, 38-week position that may be eligible for the federal student loan forgiveness program.
