Our mission at Thrive Time is to give working families a safe, engaging, and affordable on-campus option for after-school care: delivered where students already are, in partnership with the school district. Our program schedule includes snack time/homework time, an hour of clubs (determined by teacher interest and hobbies) and an hour of free play before parent pickup.
Position Summary:
The After-School Site Director is responsible for the daily operation of the afterschool program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organized environment for children, families, and staff. This leadership role oversees program quality, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, curriculum implementation, and communication with school administration. The Site Director is also responsible for communicating with families and parents. The Site Director serves as a positive role model, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence while ensuring all licensing standards and organizational policies are consistently followed. The teachers will be in charge of determining what club they would like to run, but the Site Director will be responsible for helping implement the club and making sure supplies are available.
Key Responsibilities Manage Daily Work:
Open and close the center, handle student sign-ins, and keep the building safe. Ensure appropriate teacher to child ratios (1:15-18). Monitor program quality. Ensure licensing requirements, minimum standards and organization policies and procedures are followed. Coordinate with the school principal regarding facility use, shared spaces, and student transitions from the school day to the afterschool program.
Lead Staff:
Help in hiring staff. Provide supervision, support, and mentorship to all site staff. Hold regular meetings with staff to help communication and teamwork. Address any employee performance concerns. Help with
Learning:
Make sure teachers use fun, helpful lesson plans for all ages. Support staff in managing and providing after school clubs. Communicate with
Parents:
Answer family questions, give updates, and solve problems in a constructive way. Having meetings with parents as needed to discuss questions or concerns with parents.
Handle Office Tasks:
Track budgets, buy supplies, and follow state safety rules. Ensure all required child, staff, and program documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained according to licensing requirements. Ensure teachers have the supplies they need. Qualifications Experience in managing childcare or preschool. (Can be trained by owner) Ability to supervise staff, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems effectively. Experience with curriculum implementation and behavior management. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (which Thrive Time will provide upon hire as needed). Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 20.0 per week
