Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:

Oversee the daily operations and long-term vision of the boutique center, managing all administrative functions, policy enforcement, and record-keeping.

Enrollment Management:

Take full ownership of driving enrollment growth, managing the admissions process, and welcoming new families.

Team Management & Development:

Recruit, supervise, and evaluate school staff (teachers, admin, and support personnel); facilitate professional development and performance evaluations.

Curriculum & Program Implementation:

Design and execute a high-quality curriculum focused on social-emotional, cognitive, and physical early childhood development.

Financial Oversight:

Manage budgets effectively, overseeing financial planning, resource allocation, and any fundraising initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and relevant education laws.

Family & Community Engagement:

Build strong, trusting relationships through regular communication, parent meetings, and collaborative community events.

Skills & Qualifications Educational Expertise:

Strong background in early childhood education with a deep understanding of child development theories and hands-on classroom experience.

Proven Leadership:

Demonstrated success managing teams, supervising personnel, and providing instructional leadership within an educational or childcare setting.

Compliance & Legal Knowledge:

Deep familiarity with early childhood compliance regulations, licensing standards, and special education law.

Financial Literacy:

Executive-level competence in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.

Exceptional interpersonal skills for team leadership, public speaking, conflict resolution, and community engagement. Qualifications & Education Requirements Must meet Illinois DCFS Director Qualifications, minimum 21 years of age, and an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent 64+ semester hours with 21+ hours in child development. Gateways to Opportunity Illinois Director Credential (IDC) Level I or higher required, or an active, pending application on file. Proven track record of hitting enrollment targets and successfully growing a childcare center. Deep knowledge of Illinois licensing standards (DCFS) and early childhood compliance regulations. Exceptional communication skills, with a natural ability to connect, pitch, and build trust with families in the Chicago area. Prior experience as a Daycare Director, Center Director, or Assistant Director required.
