Responsibilities Lead the overall operation of the daycare center, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, including mandated reporting laws and health and safety standards. Supervise, mentor, and support teaching staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on early childhood education best practices. Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote childhood development, including infant care, toddler care, preschool activities, and special education programs. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration, learning, and social-emotional growth. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behavior management strategies, and any concerns related to child supervision or development. Manage administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, enrollment records, licensing documentation, and budget oversight. Ensure all staff are trained in first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR, child supervision techniques, behavior management strategies, and classroom management skills. Qualifications Proven experience working with children across various age groups in daycare or preschool settings; prior daycare center experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and classroom management techniques. Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and familiarity with mandated reporting laws. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education programs is a plus. Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and staff collaboration. Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage a team effectively while maintaining a positive environment for children. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting while ensuring safety and quality care at all times.
