The Early Childhood Education Director will be responsible for creating a nurturing and structured environment that fosters children's growth and development while ensuring center operations run smoothly. The successful candidate will have infant and ECE certifications as well as Head Start experience. This role is ideal for a hands-on early childhood education director with small site leadership experience, a passionate for early learning, and a talent for managing people and processes. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of our early learning program. Partner with the Executive Director on strategic planning and execution of our vision. Lead the implementation of our early learning center for our Head Start Program. Oversight and ownership of compliance with Illinois state licensing and accreditation requirements. Participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of teachers and staff. Monitor employee performance, conduct employee evaluations, and conduct disciplinary conversations or actions when required. Oversee classroom quality, safety, and curriculum implementation. Cultivate and encourage positive relationships with families and community partners. Maintain accurate records, enrollment documentation, and reports. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Associates degree in Early Childhood Education with equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years' experience with 2+ years' supervisory experience preferred; Associate degree with 8+ years of relevant experience considered. Head Start experience is strongly preferred. Infant and ECE certifications. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Knowledge of Illinois state childcare regulations and early learning best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team with compassion and professionalism. Passionate about supporting children, families, and educators.
