Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities Manage daily center operations, including staffing, scheduling, and compliance with state and local regulations. Lead and motivate a team of teachers, caregivers, and support staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education. Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support childhood development milestones for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining rigorous health protocols, first aid readiness, and emergency procedures. Foster positive relationships with families through regular communication, updates on child progress, and addressing concerns promptly. Oversee classroom management strategies to promote a nurturing environment that encourages learning through play. Coordinate ongoing staff training in areas such as behavior management, special education techniques, infant care, and classroom experience best practices. Skills Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with disabilities. Experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings; familiarity with classroom management techniques. Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are highly valued. Excellent communication skills for engaging families and collaborating with staff members. Proven ability to implement curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards. Experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial; familiarity with behavior management strategies is essential.
