A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Job Description

Stony Brook Child Care 2 in Louisville is currently looking for a full-time assistant childcare director. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of childcare teacher/director experience along with director credential /CDA or an associate degree in early childhood education or related field. Responsibilities:
Program:
The Assistant Director will work closely with the staff to create a welcoming environment to our families and a learning, caring environment to our children. The Assistant Director must know and follow the guidelines of the Division of Regulated Child Care and have the ability to multi-task and stay organized.
Oversee staff:
The Assistant Director must be able to communicate well with the staff. They must be able to conduct interviews, hire, and train staff, making sure that all background and fingerprint checks are conducted, and all annual training is completed. The Director must ensure that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
Manage facility:
The Assistant Director must make sure that the facility is safe and stocked with all supplies. This includes checking that the safety equipment is safe and working, removing hazards, and ensuring the facility is always clean and orderly.
Market the facility:
The Assistant Director must be able to conduct tours and market the facility and its services to prospective families, as well as plan family engagement events.
Meet with parents and staff:
The childcare Assistant director will meet with parents and staff to keep parents up to date on their child's development and progress, including discussing ways to address any learning or behavioral issues. Possessing strong relationship skills and communication skills is a must for this position.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
