What they do
A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Job Description
- Oversee the daily operations of the school to ensure a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment
- Ensure full compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations, licensing standards, and policies
- Lead curriculum planning and implementation aligned with developmentally appropriate practices
- Supervise, mentor, and support teaching staff and classroom educators
- Partner closely with the school owner on strategic planning, staffing, and program development
- Strengthen family communication and foster a collaborative, community-oriented school culture
- Maintain and update school policies, procedures, and required documentation
- Represent the school professionally in the broader early childhood education community Qualifications
- Massachusetts EEC Director I and Director II certification (required)
- 2+ years of experience in a director or leadership role within an early childhood setting
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
- In-depth familiarity with Massachusetts EEC regulations and licensing requirements
- Demonstrated experience supervising and evaluating teaching staff
- Background in teaching, particularly at the preschool or kindergarten level (preferred)
