Child Care Center Director Full-Time | Monday-Friday | $27-$28 per hour We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and organized Child Care Center Director to lead the daily operations of a licensed early childhood education program. This is an excellent opportunity for an early childhood professional who enjoys leading a team, building strong relationships with families, and creating a high-quality environment where children and educators can thrive. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with strong knowledge of child development, childcare licensing requirements, staff management, and center operations. Core Responsibilities Hiring & Leadership Recruit, interview, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate teachers and support staff. Provide ongoing leadership, guidance, and support to the teaching team. Work to reduce staff turnover and promote a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Ensure staff maintain all required professional development and training. Enrollment & Marketing Lead local marketing and community outreach efforts to increase program visibility. Conduct tours for prospective families and communicate the program's philosophy and offerings. Manage enrollment and capacity limits in accordance with licensing requirements. Develop strategies to maintain and increase annual enrollment. Regulatory Compliance Maintain 100% compliance with state childcare licensing regulations, health codes, and safety standards. Maintain required documentation, records, policies, and procedures. Ensure classrooms and the overall facility consistently meet licensing and safety expectations. Operations & Budgeting Oversee daily center operations and ensure the program runs efficiently. Assist with and manage facility budgets and financial responsibilities. Oversee tuition collection and enrollment-related administrative tasks. Manage staff scheduling and ensure appropriate classroom coverage. Help maintain the facility, supplies, equipment, and general upkeep. Family Relations & Community Build strong, respectful, and trusting partnerships with parents and families. Communicate effectively with families regarding their children's experiences and needs. Address concerns and resolve conflicts professionally and thoughtfully. Plan and participate in family and community events. Foster a welcoming environment where families feel connected to the program.
Qualifications Needed Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
Credentials:
State-specific childcare Director certification required (such as Massachusetts EEC Director II ).
Experience:
2-5 years of prior teaching and administrative or leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting. Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Strong budgeting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead a team while maintaining professionalism, accountability, and a positive workplace culture. Strong understanding of childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements.
Compensation & Schedule Pay:
$27-$28 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday Alternating 7:00 AM-4:00 PM Alternating 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Why Join Us?
