Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Before & After Care Lead to oversee and coordinate our childcare programs during before-school and after-school hours. This vital role involves creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, ensuring smooth daily operations, and fostering positive relationships with families and staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and a commitment to supporting childhood development through structured activities and personalized care. Duties Lead and supervise staff responsible for before- and after-school care, ensuring high standards of safety, engagement, and child well-being Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Manage classroom management strategies to maintain a positive, inclusive environment conducive to learning and fun Ensure all staff are trained in first aid, emergency procedures, behavior management techniques, and special education accommodations as needed Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administrators to coordinate schedules, communicate progress, and address individual needs Oversee daily operations including attendance tracking, safety protocols, meal/snack distribution, and facility maintenance Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages creativity, teamwork, Christian values (if applicable), and personal growth among children Qualifications Proven experience in early childhood education, childcare, or related fields such as daycare or camp leadership Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education strategies Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in teaching or tutoring are a plus Experience working with children in settings such as babysitting, sports coaching, theater programs or Christian counseling is highly valued Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude Join us in creating a vibrant community where children thrive!
