Job Description

The Milan Area School District is seeking a highly qualified Executive Director of Early Childhood to serve as the educational leader and program manager for the Paddock Early Childhood Center (PECC). PECC serves students ranging from birth to age 5, offering specialized programming including infant/toddler rooms, the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) preschool, and tuition-based preschool rooms. The PECC Director fosters a safe, supportive, and culturally inclusive learning environment dedicated to school readiness and foundational growth.
Key Responsibilities Program Management & Compliance:
Manage, monitor, and evaluate all early childhood programming to ensure absolute compliance with Michigan LARA licensing rules and
MDE GSRP
implementation guidelines.
Childcare Oversight:
Direct and oversee school-aged childcare programs, ensuring high-quality enrichment activities, smooth before/after-school operations, and safe multi-age supervision.
Curriculum & Coaching:
Oversee the implementation of evidence-based early childhood curricula and assessment tools; provide instructional coaching and professional development to teaching staff.
Preferred Candidate Profile Program & Regulatory Knowledge:
Working knowledge of GSRP implementation requirements, allowable expenditures, state compliance reporting, and State of Michigan LARA rules/regulations.
Curriculum Expertise:
Experience with evidence-based curricula (such as HighScope or Creative Curriculum) and program observation/assessment tools.
Data-Driven Leadership:
Proficient at utilizing screening tools, assessment data, and program metrics to drive instructional coaching and continuous quality improvement.
Community Collaboration:
Skilled at fostering strong parent-school partnerships and collaborating with Intermediate School Districts (ISDs) and local stakeholders to maximize enrollment and support services.
Culture Builder:
Dedicated to cultivating a collaborative, supportive, trusting, and inclusive environment for staff, students, and families.
